Final Art Completed

Art is COMPLETED!

It was a lot of custom art to get done. It took longer than we expected. Over 50 pieces of original art based on photos submitted by backers. 

The Custom Knights!

So, remember that each Knight belongs to a Code. In 4 of the codes, the Knights will have all of the same perks and cost for the Crown Tracks, but, each of them will have different Advanced Abilities. This was really great in the final testing and locking everything down as it really gives the players the ability to not only have very different paths for advancement, but, also with 18 Knights in the base game, the replay is very high. Also, there are so many neat combos that you can shoot for looking through all the different Advanced Abilities. 

In the Humility Code, all the Knights are different. And while you can only pick one Knight from each Code to bring to the Joust, this really pushes the custom household feel.

New Crown Design

Also the wooden crown bits had to be redesigned. The first version was not good in production as the thin edges were breaking. So I had to redesign them, and this took a few days to work out, and then all the graphic design had to be reworked and updated for the new icon.

 Also, I would like to share the final art for the Political Cards.

 As this phase of the production comes to a close, I will update you when all the files have been accepted at the printer. The final wooden samples should be done soon now that we have the Crown redesign completed. I am excited to share the custom wooden boxes when they come in.

I hope to have a final version of the rules for you in a week or so. I have been working on getting all the art transferred over for the print and play. This is a large undertaking as I have to prepare the files completely different for the printer than I do for the PnP version.

As we enter the the month of August, we have good news and bad news.

The Bad News . . .

is that the completion of the art for the custom squires and knights have taken a little longer than we had anticipated. We are waiting on the final knights to be finished so we can post the print n play and send the files to our production company to start the production process.

The Good News . . .

This doesn't mean we have been sitting on our haunches, twiddling our thumbs though! We have secured our spot in the production que by paying half of what we owe to the production company (The second half gets paid when printing is completed.)

The rule book is nearly finished. We are touching up the final nuances of it as we speak. The playmats have been ordered; the wooden boxes have also been ordered. 

I know we said the end of July for the print n play and we apologize for the delay. The only thing that is holding this part of the process up is the art and finalization of the rule book. We are very close to both and hope to have them out to all of you shortly.

This delay has caused us a little bit of grief in our timeline. We are looking at alternative shipping possibilities to help ensure we make our deadline. Of course, honestly, the deciding factor will be if we can afford that route or not.

 Hello Strikers,

I wanted to share the squire art. 

The Print and Play is going to be a bit longer. Two things contributed to this delay; art and the rule book.

We are still waiting on some of the final backers art to be completed. After these are all done, we will have the PnP completely ready for your download. This took a little bit longer than we anticipated.

We had discussed releasing the PnP with the art that we have, and just updating it as we added in the new art, but thought that would be a headache to our backers and us as well, so we scrapped that idea and delayed the PnP one month to the end of July/beginning of August. This delay shouldn't affect the timing of the final product arrival.

We were not happy with some of the rules language and we are getting the final proofing of that now. However to be fair, we combined the new buildings into the rule book and these were set up differently Pre-Kickstarter. They will all be uniform which is nice for referencing and reading. This was an unforeseen change that I am dealing with but in the long run it makes the rule book better and this is important. This took a bit longer then I expected.                   

One last thing. The Backer kit was completed. If you move or need to change your address you can still do that until about a week or so before we ship so there is plenty of time on that if you are moving or planning to move.

 Hello Strikers,

Things are moving along! I am working hard to get the print and play out by the end of the month. 

Rule Book

The rule book is in the final editing phase and is coming along. While this may not be 100% by the print and play time. I will continue to update the online version of it in real time. 

Backerkit

We will charge the Backerkit at the end of the month somewhere around the 25th. I will update a day or so before just so everyone is well aware.

Artwork

Art is moving forward and we are completing the costum art. I hope that Rebecca will be done with all the custom art for the boxed game in a few weeks. I am making the final tweaks to the playmat and should have the final art for you in a week or so with and update. I had a few colors to change around and some small placement issues to correct.

Moving Right Along

 Hello Strikers,

We are moving right along as we should be. Our artist has begun working on the art for the backer levels and we are just about to hit the go button on the Backerkit.

So closing the Kickstarter was great and the funds were transferred with no problems. We began working on things right away and have the final quote updated with all the stretch goals. We have finalized some other things and locked down shipping and freight. 

Custom Art!

Above is one of the custom Squire pieces. I have already gotten back several pieces and in a future update I will share all the squire art with you. 

Can I still get the game?

Yes if you were at the dollar pledge or digital level you may upgrade to order the full game at the Kickstarter price. With Kickstarter shipping. So as things progress here I will share the news as we move forward!

Phoenix Comic Con

I will be at PCC this weekend on the second floor of the Hyatt in the board game area. I have a dedicated table and will be running Demos of King's Champion and House of Borgia! If you are in the Phoenix area please stop by I always love to met folks that support our games! 

As Backerkit is getting ready to launch we always get a few questions so I thought i would try to answer some of the questions that we get.

Can I order more copies?

Yes you may add on more copies!

Can I bundle add ons?

Yes, on some of the items. You may bundle the playmat and the extra Knights. This will give you a bit better pricing for both and a bit better shipping for both. 

I can not bundle House of Borgia because that will ship at the close of backer kit in June and the other items will not be ready until September of so.

When will house of Borgia Ship?

The game will be shipped from the warehouse as soon as we close the Backerkit at the end of June.

When will the Backerkit Charge my Card?

We plan to lock down charges on Backerkit at the end of June. Yes you can still pre-order the game and yes you can still change your address until October.
